So I am sure some of you have had to deal with your water heater breaking and the process of getting new one. Well, now I am joining the club. My husband was taking a shower the other day when the hot water ran out, at first he blamed me for taking too long of a shower right before him, we were getting ready for a retirement party for my dad. I knew that I didn’t take that long of a shower, at least not as long as I had in the passed. Needless to day that my husband had some cold water toward the end of his shower.
When we got back from the party, my husband looked into the issue with the water heater because we couldn’t get hot water out of any faucet. Our water heater was broke. We waited until the following Monday to have a technician come out to look at it just in case that it was fixable, we didn’t want to have to pay for the emergency rate to have them come out on the weekend and yes we dealt with cold water for a couple days. So the technician came out and took a look and confirmed that yes our water eater was broken, and that there was no way to fix it. It was old and needed to be replaced. So with that said he left and my husband got online to do some research on tanks. He has been wanting a tankless water heater for some time and now seemed the perfect time to get one. It only took him a couple of hours to fine the one that he wanted. Thank goodness for us because there are times where he will research things for weeks before he will decide on something. I guess the fact that we were going to be out of hot water until he found made him decide a little quicker.
So that evening we went to the our local Home Depot and purchased a tankless water heater and we tried to install ourselves the same day. Which I thought was pretty cool, my husband on the other did not. It turned out to be a little more difficult than we thought. It didn’t get working until the next day and after watching many tutorials on YouTube and reading reading instructions online. It was quite an adventure if I have to say but it all worked and everything is in place. These tankless water heaters are a pretty nifty thing. They leave so much more room in the closet that I can now partly use it as a storage room, which most definitely helps. Plus my husband has wanted a tankless heater for as long as he had first heard about them. He thinks they are the coolest thing in the world. Which I have to admit are pretty cool creations. If you are ever in the market for a new water heater, I would totally recommend picking up a tankless one.
Thanks everyone for reading this, until next time
